New Instructional Technologist

Hello, my name is Travis Rex Brian. My friends call me “T-Rex” and my cousins call me “Trav”. It will be a definite pleasure getting to know everyone and becoming part of the team. Art, computers and motorcycle riding is what I enjoy most in life. August 2011 I rode alone, without electronic gadgets just paper maps and a magnetic compass, on side roads no Interstates, through the 48 Continental United States and 3 provinces of Canada sleeping on the ground next to my motorcycle each night. I was born in Monticello Utah but never lived there since my father joined the Army after I was born. I grew up in several military towns throughout the U.S. My father was stationed at the 97th General Hospital in Germany so I went to High School in Frankfurt and got to travel overseas. I have a large family here in Utah from my Father’s side and an eclectic family in Vista and Oceanside California from my Mother’s side. A while back I studied Painting and Drawing at Cameron University receiving a BA degree with a minor in military science. When the internet started looking interesting I took several more classes related to multimedia, web design and a year’s worth of vocation classes related to computer service, systems support and customer support. I worked for several firms thru the “dot com boom and bust”. I have been teaching multimedia and art related classes for the Visual Art and Design department here at SLCC for the last decade. I’m working on a M.Ed. in Instructional Design, and I’m an Adobe certified educator.
