Division Committees

From the Director:

Last year, several division committees (Values, Communications & Marketing, Training, and Professional Development) were established to help foster engagement across the division.  All full-time employees (some part-time) were assigned to one of the four committees. 

The work of the committees has been outstanding and they quickly identified a number of opportunities and areas of focus for the division. 

Despite the work of the committees, the committee leads and some of the members, were asked to take on more that what was expected and fair according to their job descriptions (other duties as assigned right).  At the heart of the issue, employees were operationalizing what should/could be done by other employees. 

To better foster the original purpose of the committee work, we have recently dissolved the committees and will be establishing working groups where needed.  The working groups will function similarly to the committees, but will have a specific goal/focus and will be dissolved once their recommendations are submitted to the director and other applicable supervisors.

The first working group (onboarding) was established a couple of weeks ago, as a result of the original work of the Professional Development Committee.  Heidi Christensen is leading this working group.  Each of you should have received an email from Heidi recently to participate one or more onboarding surveys.
