Brown Bags

Our very own Brenda has been asked to provide Brown Bag Discussions each week for the IDD department. Below is a description of what those are. Thank you so much Brenda!!! These have been amazing!! What do brown bags have in common with the instructional designers and instructional technologists? Not much…though you may think it has something to do with all the partying we do in TB 213. But, in reality, our team started a new professional development activity in January where we come together every Tuesday at 12:45 to have a “brown bag” discussion on various topics that don’t fit in our other meetings. We discuss subjects that apply to our specific jobs, as well as, subjects that will help us work together better as a team or that we can apply to our personal lives. We sometimes have guest speakers come and have some future field trips planned. In May, we will be jaunting over to the Redwood testing center for a tour with Deb and her team. We all look forward to this time together, in a relaxed setting, to discuss and share ideas about interesting topics. We, almost always, walk away with at least one tidbit of information that will help us be better at our jobs and a renewed sense of collegiality.
