Department Updates

In our Division Staff Meeting yesterday, the following updates were given: Testing Services: Deb is currently reviewing applications for on-call testing proctors. Along with that, Testing Services is beginning to prepare for Spring Finals. CT 070 is getting more storage, and a different layout, with the help of Facilities. This semester has been very busy with hybrid math course tests and additional online courses utilizing Testing Services. Classroom Technology: Kurt will be replacing a Classroom Technology specialist at the end of next month. It is a part-time, morning, position at Redwood. The staff will be cleaning out the 8-10 classrooms with A/V equipment at Highland, prior to that location closing. Instructional Design and Development: Brenda is the coordinator of a Brown Bag Series and they have been very successful. Last Wednesday, IDD gave the first in a series of Canvas Workshops that they are partnering with the FTLC to do. IDD is also working with the FTLC on a redesign of the 1st Year Instructor Training. IDD is working on a 1st Year Experience online course, currently titled, "Bridge to Success." Two Social Work courses have begun design and development. IDD has begun posting a "tip of the week" on Canvas for Faculty. Learning Center: The Learning Center is working hard on a Tutor Training outline. College Success Workshops are also ramping up.
