eKudos Awards January 2015 Aisha Bennett always goes above and beyond in her job. She’s always looking for ways to improve our system. He is researching and studying new ways to help the students and help his co-workers. “Innovation” **Annette Moulder. I just wanted to give Annette a public kudos for answering my call this weekend. I’m teaching for the School of Business as an adjunct this semester and had some problems with the courses this weekend and Annette was able to get me taken care of in under 20 minutes! This had nothing to do with SAT, but Annette was happy to help. My thanks to Annette for helping me out in an area that she doesn’t normally cover! “Service” Angie Napper. I have been so impressed by the way Angie has seemingly effortlessly assimilated into the team! She graciously responds to requests, is always upbeat and smiling – and looks for ways to say yes – instead of no. She is a master at collaboration. (And knows how to have fun!) “Collaboration” Samuel Smith. Big shout out to Sam Smith for helping me with a classroom disaster! On Friday (January 9th), I received a call early morning informing me that all the audio/video wires had been cut in one of the classrooms out at Jordan Campus during a construction project! With classes starting the following Monday, I had to have the room in working order before the first class took place. When I went to the room, I wanted to cry. There were so many wires. The construction company literally sawed through all of the cables without a though as to what they did or how they were running. With the construction still in operation, Sam helped me find the best short term solution on running all of the A/V wires. He then stayed and helped label the wires, run the wires, put new ends on and test everything before leaving. If Sam had not been there to help me with this, I would have been working until the late, late pm hours or past midnight, all the while crying. Thanks to Sam’s help, I was able to get home by 9 pm that night to say goodnight to my family and know that everything was taken care of. Thank you, Sam, for helping me! “Collaboration” Paula Michniewicz for helping the support desk with students with the eBook in the History 1700 courses. “Service” Greg Miles worked with me and a walk-in student to solve a problem with uploading a video assignment. “Collaboration” **Andre Mercer & Taylor Whetman. Two new high-tech, pilot, “Flex” classrooms opened for business this semester at Redwood. Faculty were nervous about using these new all-wireless classrooms with multiple monitors and projectors. Andre and Taylor spent the entire first week of classes providing technical support to over 15 faculty members assigned to these rooms. Between them, Andre and Taylor attended almost 40 class meetings in one week (while still attending to their other duties), and they did such a good job of helping the faculty get oriented to the technology that many of the faculty had them come in and teach their students, in class, how to download apps and connect to their monitors in the rooms. A number of faculty commented on how helpful our staff were to them, and their students, during this stressful week. Great job! “Service” Brenda Blocker. Brenda has a quiet confidence in everything she does. Excellence is reflected in how she works on projects and the way she treats people. She is a great asset and example to the team. “Excellence” Rachael Sweeten. Rachael Sweeten has helped me a lot. Not only helping and answering questions, but going above and beyond proactively giving and sharing information on how to answer calls and help faculty. Being new, this has helped me a lot. “Collaboration” Kathy Ruby. Kathy Ruby has gone above and beyond the call of duty by being extra helpful, friendly, and approachable. Several times, I have had questions and she has always been able to answer any question in a confident manner. “Collaboration” Maryanne Tye. Maryanne is always friendly and approachable. Whenever I had a difficult question, I always felt she was approachable and helpful. Never a cold shoulder and always a confident and helpful answer. “Collaboration” **January winners (chosen by drawing names out of a hat)
